Article Summary

To create a Tenant, simply click on the + button on the main EchoStream page. This will bring up a dialog asking you for the name of your new Tenant and the AWS Region that you want to create it in.

Name

Your Tenant name must be globally unique. Other than that can be anything that you want it to be, as long as it is:

  • At least 8 characters long and less than 80 characters long
  • Allowed characters are A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and the symbols :/_-

Region

You must select a region for your Tenant. This corresponds to the AWS Region that all of your Tenant resources will be created in. This cannot be changed after Tenant creation!

Regional isolation is required for many businesses due to compliance restrictions. For example, healthcare data in the United States must remain within the United States, and if shared outside of that region must be documented.

NOTE - If you want to pass messages across AWS Regions, this may be accomplished by creating a Tenant in each region and using Cross Tenant Applications
