Article summary

Tenants in EchoStream allow you to manage discrete processing networks and serve as the organizer of those networks and their resources. You may create or participate in as many Tenants as you wish.

All Tenant resources are used only by your Tenant, and all data within those resources is encrypted in flight and at rest using your Tenant's encryption key.

All Tenant resources exist in the AWS Region that you specify on Tenant creation. This guarantees that any messages that your Tenant processing always remain within that region (required for compliance in certain industries).

Tenants contain:

  • An processing network of Apps, Nodes and Edges
  • A list of Users that can manage the Tenant
  • A list of API Users that can manage the Tenant
  • A library of Message Types that may be sent through the network
  • A library of Functions that may be used in certain Nodes in the network
  • A Config that provides Tenant-level secrets to certain Nodes in the network
  • An AWS DynamoDB table that can be accessed by certain Nodes in the network for inter-Node and long-term state
  • An object bucket used to store Bulk Data and message audits
