Article summary

Cross Tenant Apps are special Apps that sit on the edge of your Tenant processing network but remain entirely within the EchoStream Cloud. They exist to establish a "transfer" agreement with another EchoStream Tenant.

There are two types of Cross Tenant Apps and they work together to establish a pathway between Tenants.

Cross Tenant Apps contain respectively named Cross Tenant Nodes, and support the transfer of messages in a unidirectional way between partner Tenants.

Creating

Cross Tenant Receiving App

To begin the "transfer" agreement, the Tenant that wants to receive messages will create a Cross Tenant Receiving App.

To do this, you must know the name of the Tenant that you are going to be receiving message from (the Sending Tenant).

Once you have created the Cross Tenant Receving App, record the name of your Tenant, the name of the App you just created, and contact an administrator of the Sending Tenant to complete the link.

Cross Tenant Sending App

To create a Cross Tenant Sending App you must have a partner Tenant that wishes to receive message from you and they must have already created a Cross Tenant Receiving App. Once they have done this and provided you with the name of their Tenant and the name of their Cross Tenant Receiving App, you may create your Cross Tenant Sending App.

Once your Cross Tenant Sending App is created, the link to your partner Tenant is established and you can begin using your new App.

Using

To use a Cross Tenant App, the owner of the Cross Tenant Sending App creates a Cross Tenant Sending Node. This action will automatically create a Cross Tenant Receiving Node in your partner Tenant's Cross Tenant Receiving App.

Responsibilities

The sending Tenant fully controls what messages are sent to the Cross Tenant Sending App, how those messages are processed by the Cross Tenant Sending Node, and therefore what messages and of what Message Type the receiving Tenant will receive.

The receiving Tenant fully controls where the messages that it is sent go within it's processing network.

Deleting

Either side of the Cross Tenant App can sever the partnership at any point in time by deleting their respective Cross Tenant App. This will cause a cascading delete of the partner Tenant's Cross Tenant App and Nodes, severing the link (and perhaps the partnership).
