You may create API Users in your Tenant. Normally these users are created for "service" account purposes, such as resource creation/update automation.
API Users are only allowed to access the EchoStream API, and then only on behalf of the Tenant that they belong to. Furthermore, API Users are never allowed to invite other Users or create other API Users in your Tenant.
When you create an API User, you must specify the role:
Role | Permissions |
---|---|
admin | Everything, except managing Users/API Users and deleting the Tenant |
user | Manage the network, including adding Nodes and Edges; can only view/use Tenant-level attributes like Message Types and Functions |
read-only | View access only, cannot change any aspect of your Tenant |
